Assoc. Prof. Fuad Mehraliyev

Fuad Mehraliyev received his B.Sc. from Baku State University, Azerbaijan, M.Sc. from Umeå University, Sweden and Ph.D. from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong in 2008, 2012, and 2019, respectively. Fuad is a recipient of very competitive scholarships, including Azerbaijani state scholarship for education abroad (2010-2012) and Hong Kong Fellowship Scheme (2016 – 2019).

After receiving M.Sc. degree, he returned to Azerbaijan and worked as a lecturer in Western Caspian University (formerly, Western University) for four years. During this time, he also led several courses in Baku State University and Azerbaijan Tourism and Management University (formerly, Azerbaijan Institute of Tourism).  After his Ph.D., Fuad started to work as Research Assistant Professor in Hong Kong Metropolitan University (formerly, Open University of Hong Kong). Starting from January 2022, he will continue his academic career in Roskilde University, Denmark as Associate Professor in Marketing.

Dr. Mehraliyev identifies himself as an interdisciplinary researcher and his research interests lie in the intersections of tourism/hospitality, marketing and data science. He has published extensively in leading tourism and hospitality journals on the topics of big data analytics, social media power and smart tourism.

As a service to Azerbaijani community, Fuad founded “Mehrəliyev Elmi Araşdırma Klubu” (MEAK) where among other activities, he is sharing systematic video series, mainly about research methods. As a service to wider academic community, Fuad is serving in the editoriad board of International Jouirnal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, and is a managnig editor of International Journal of Bibliometrics in Business and Management.
