Dr. Elnur Hajiyev

Elnur received his B.Sc. in physics from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and started his research career in Center for Quantum Technologies of NUS (Singapore). As a research assistant he was involved in development of new frequency standard using trapped Lutetium ions forming an ionic crystal. He got his Ph.D. from HKUST (Hong Kong) and is currently doing postdoc at HKUST. His PhD thesis focused on building ultra-narrow linewidth laser for addressing a clock transition in Ytterbium atoms. During his doctoral studies he served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate students and got the best teaching award. As a postdoctoral research fellow Dr Hajiyev is overseeing the development of quantum computer using cold atoms trapped in optical tweezers.
